The tear jerker wedding of 2020

We can only hope that the current situation we find ourselves in is once-in-a-lifetime - which is, of course, also what we hope for when we stand across from our beloved and say ‘I Do’. Yet 60,000 couples have had to cancel their nuptuals due to Covid19.

London based couple Louise and Patrick (and their adorable little rescue dog, Lizzy) had planned for a 200-strong festival-style ceremony in a stunning English orchard, their dreams were quickly kiboshed when the lockdown kicked in, leaving them unsure what to do next. Luckily, Channel 4 and a certain fairy godfather Fred Sirieix from First Dates came to the rescue, vowing (pardon the pun) to help them create the ceremony of their dreams… in the garden of their small London terrace, with the guests rocking up via Zoom.

The space had to form two functions: first, a romantic ‘restaurant’ for a Michelin-starred pre-wedding meal, then as a spot for the ceremony itself, complete with monitors to allow both Fred (the officiator) and their loved ones to virtually join.
