A Sustainable Styled Shoot at Crockwell Farm
When Anne from Bluebell Ceremonies first came to me with the idea of a love local styled shoot, I was instantly on board. The influences were seasonal, local, preloved and the great outdoors. Anne had initially planned for a different venue but as a freelancer at Crockwell Farm, I knew they would be the perfect fit, I’ve seen first hand how their commitment to sustainability isn’t just lip service, they walk the talk!
The shoot was born from the idea of the "10-mile menu" and Anne wondered if the same principle could be applied to weddings. Could we plan a day where everything was sourced locally? The mission was simple to inspire couples to make the most of the incredible talent right on their doorstep. Every supplier involved came from an average of 15 mile radius of the venue. The result? A beautifully curated shoot that celebrated local talent, conscious choices and effortless style.
Crockwell Farm are proud members of the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, their sustainability efforts go beyond buzzwords from onsite renewable energy to mandatory carbon literacy training, this is a venue truly leading the way.
Here's a peek at the dream team who made this shoot possible and who brought the vision to life...

Venue: Crockwell Farm
Tucked away in the Northamptonshire countryside, Crockwell is a true hidden gem. This family run venue feels like home; warm, welcoming and surrounded by beautiful gardens and countryside. They offer exclusive use of facilities for three days and their commitment to sustainability makes them a brilliant choice for couples who care about the planet as much as their wedding day.
Photographer: Sam Bennett Photography
Sam has a way of capturing moments that feel completely real, his style is relaxed, natural and full of heart. He brought the entire day to life through his lens, telling the story in a way that was both beautiful and deeply honest.
Flowers: Willow Green Flower Farm
We had the pleasure of working with local Northamptonshire grower and florist Juliet Corston. Every flower used in the shoot was British grown, with the majority sourced from within just five miles of Crockwell. Juliet created stunning arrangements using early peonies, sweet rocket, stocks, forget-me-nots, daisies, buttercups, ranunculus, lupins, bluebells, cow parsley and aquilegia.
Sustainability was at the heart of her designs. The flower cushions for the tablescape were crafted from turf and dotted with wildflowers, while the floor-standing arrangements were built using compostable trays and biodegradable foam. The flower crown featured a delicate, hand-woven willow framework and the tree garlands were wired to allow them to drape organically through the branches.
Wherever you're based, you can find a local flower grower through @flowersfromthefarm and embrace seasonal, sustainable flowers.
Models: @fionaand
Our real couple brought such warmth and authenticity to the shoot. Even with all the styling, their love shone through, proof that real connection is always the most powerful detail.

Bridalwear: Bridal Reloved
Bridal Reloved is a network of award winning bridal boutiques specialising in high end designer wedding dresses that are either pre-owned or ex-sample. The choice and quality they offer is impressive and I love that these beautiful pieces are being given a second life and keeping them out of landfill
For this shoot, Bridal Reloved kindly loaned us two incredible looks: a dreamy gown complete with veil and a hand-crafted hair clip and a super chic jumpsuit for a fresh, modern twist.
Celebrant: Bluebell Ceremonies
Want a wedding ceremony that’s truly personal, one that reflects your style, engages your guests and tells your unique story? Then a celebrant ceremony is the perfect choice. For this shoot, we worked with the wonderful Anne from Bluebell Ceremonies “There are so many beautiful ways to personalise your ceremony. For this shoot, we included both a quaich ritual and a cocktail shake!”
A quaich is a traditional two-handled cup from Scottish heritage, symbolising togetherness and unity with each partner takes a sip as a gesture of shared celebration. The cocktail shake added a fun, modern twist. Anne explained, “It’s a playful way to represent the ingredients for a successful marriage and the first toast to your new life together. We made a strawberry daiquiri with strawberry for sweetness, lime for zest and rum for warmth.”
Hair & Makeup
• Hair: Elizabeth Jane Wedding Hair
• Makeup: Sarah Evans Makeup
To complement the stunning pieces from Bridal Reloved, we created two distinct hair and makeup looks each designed to reflect the style and personality of the outfit.
For the chic jumpsuit, @sarahevansmakeup crafted an elegant and timeless look: fresh, polished skin, sculpted cheekbones, defined eyes with a a bold, standout lip. Hair stylist @elizabethjaneweddinghair paired the look with a sleek, low bun and a centre parting, a clean, modern style that perfectly balanced the outfit’s contemporary edge.
For the romantic gown, Sarah took inspiration from an ethereal, bohemian aesthetic. Glowing skin and soft peachy tones created a natural, effortless feel. Liz styled the hair in relaxed waves to complement the boho flower crown and flowing veil, an effortlessly beautiful finish for a laid-back bridal look.
Cake: Bloom Bakehouse
The wedding cake made by Suzanne used colour and texture rather than florals to bring depth and character to the design. Both a classic tiered cake and a modern sheet cake were created. The soft, buttery yellow tone took inspiration from the current butter yellow trend, while the textured finish echoed the wildflower, countryside vibe of the shoot. The result was relaxed, natural and effortlessly stylish perfectly in keeping with our sustainable, local theme.
It was almost too beautiful to eat… almost and yes it tasted just as good as it looked (I may have gone back for seconds!).
Stationery: Anna Jayne Designs
We had the pleasure of working with local watercolour artist and stationer Anna, whose work brought a truly artistic and thoughtful touch to the shoot. Embracing the sustainable theme, Anna found inspiration in the everyday beauty of her garden and countryside walks. This led to delicate illustrations of strawberry flowers and apple blossom, paired with a soft, fresh pastel palette.
I’ve seen a lot of wedding stationery but Anna’s work genuinely took my breath away. Her concertina style invitations were absolutely gorgeous, but the real showstopper? Hand-painted linen napkins. Each design is water coloured by Anna, then scanned and printed onto recycled linen, personalised with the guest’s name. Part place card, part keepsake, part work of art. Just… wow.

Video: @shannonrosia
The beauty of the shoot was captured by Shannon, she skilfully blended the video with music and the spoken words to tell the story of the day.
Jewellery: MacAngus Designs
For the shoot Kate styled our bride with one of her signature star sapphire pendants, featuring a radiant yellow sapphire at its centre. It was a perfect match elegant, unique and full of personality.
Kate suggests when choosing jewellery for your wedding day, consider three key things: comfort, confidence and how it complements your outfit. If your dress has a high neckline, for example, a necklace might get lost but a pair of statement or drop earrings can beautifully fill the space between your shoulders and ears, adding balance and elegance. Don’t be afraid to introduce colour through your accessories. It’s a lovely way to echo your bouquet, highlight your eye colour or include a subtle nod to birthstones whether yours or your partner’s. Pearls remain a timeless bridal favourite, they come in a surprising range of shapes, sizes and tones making it easy to add a modern twist to a traditional choice.
Confetti: Shropshire Petals
Nothing beats real petals for this shoot, we used both loose confetti and confetti cannons kindly sent by Shropshire Petals. Their slow-falling, dye-free biodegradable confetti is made from dried flower petals grown right here in Britain.
If you are looking for an alternative to petals? Paper streamers are a fun, eco-friendly option that create epic photos especially when thrown in the air or released from handheld poppers. Whether you go for petals or paper, a confetti moment is always worth planning.
Styling: Katie Lou Weddings
I sourced beautiful tableware locally from Chipping Norton Hire supporting nearby businesses while keeping our carbon footprint low. The tablescape was all about layering textures and curating standout details. We began with rattan chargers to frame each plate and add warmth and visual interest. The green patterned plates perfectly echoed the outdoor, wildflower theme, while the green water glasses brought a fresh pop of colour to the setting.
Hiring key pieces like chairs, charger plates and glassware elevates the entire look.

This wasn’t just about pretty details it was about telling a story. A celebration of local talent, thoughtful choices and a shared love for the planet. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s meaningful, magical, and low-impact, you don’t have to compromise. Talk to your venue and ask for their recommendations, check supplier lists and use google maps to search for suppliers. 💚
